Dear Patient Families,
At CU Pediatric Dentists, the health and safety of our patients, families, and our team is our top priority. After being closed for 9 weeks, per IDPH (Illinois Department of Public Health) recommendations we plan to soft-open the week of Monday May 18, 2020. Our re-opening plan follows the ADA (American Dental Association) guidelines which were developed to comply with CDC and OSHA requirements. We have been and will continue to stay up-to-date with these guidelines as new rulings or guidance may be issued.
In addition to universal precautions and infection control we always practice, new protocols ae implemented to comply with current public health measures:
— Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.
— Only patients and one parent are allowed in the building. Others please wait in the car or outside.
— Anyone who enters the building will be required to wear a mask throughout their visit.
— We will take your temperature. If patient/parent has a fever, sore throat, cough, or any respiratory symptoms, we will reschedule your appointment.
— We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. Hand sanitizers are also available for your use in the treatment area. Patients may be asked to use a pre-treatment mouth wash.
— Our office now has a minimalistic look without magazines, toys, and other items that are difficult to clean and disinfect.
— Until the pandemic subsides, teeth cleaning (plaque/stains/build-up removal) will be performed with hand instruments only to reduce aerosol generation.
— You will see our team in enhanced PPE (personal protect equipment) including face shields and extra eye protection.
As we open our office in stages we will try our best to accommodate everyone within our operational capacities. Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing and disinfecting between patients. This might mean fewer options for scheduling your appointments; we apologize for this inconvenience. We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
